Looters

 Looters raided Coney Island and many differnt places after hurricane Sandy swept through town for many different causes. The NY daily news article said, "People were running in and out of Rent-A-Center carrying these big flat screens". In the middle of a hurricane the last thing you need to survive is a flat screen t.v. A flat screen isnt going to feed your family so why were people doing this? The NY Daily News article also says, "people were running out of a nearby Rite Aid with bags of diapers and wipes". This is a case where it is understandable that someone would loot. Obviously this person has a child that needs caring for. If i was in that situation i know i would steal to help my child. These are all examples of how people looted for good and bad reasons but in the end looting is still frowned upon.

         Bieber Fever



 

     For the past couple of years the teenage music world has been dominated by Justin Bieber. The young singer practically won his popularity over night and he is only 18 years old. Yet when a young girl asks for his autograph and he tells her off everyone says that its wrong. Justin is just an average kid but with thousands of fans, he has every right to get annoyed at some random girl that is bugging him.

 

       On August 10th young Justin Bieber was at the Durhamtown resort in Georgia riding a motorcycle. According to Blogger Project News Today, "Suddenly, a 5-year-old girl approached and asked for Justin's signature", Justin refused to give his signature to the little girl and stated that he did not want to be disturbed. "It's my day off", Justin snapped as quoted from Showbizspy, the little girl should have known not to disturb him on his day off. Even celebrities get tired and worn out and need a break from all the action, so Justin has every right to get a little aggravated at a 5 year old who disturbs him. Then, to top it all off, the little girls mother says to Justin," I know but shes only 5 and she really loved you", a 5 year old girl doesnt know what love is and her mother should never have let her become so attached to an 18 year old who doesnt even know her. Her mother set her up to get crushed.

 

         Justin Bieber is just like any other 18 year old. He just wants to live life to the fullest and have a undisturbed break here and there. So for a 5 year old girl to disturb him this is her own fault. Justin had every right to be rude to her.

          The reason the new World Trade Center is 1,776 feet tall is because thats the year of our countrys independence. The infographic says, "1 WTC will be the tallest building in the United States. Its height represents the countrys independence." Because 1776 is the year the country won its independence it only makes sense that a patriotic building as such should be 1,776 feet tall.

1) Toys by James Patterson
     It looked like a interesting book. It had a sports car and an explosion on the front so it looks like its    going to have alot of action and drama in it. Cars are cool so the book might very well be cool too. I read "The Big Bad Wolf" by James Patterson and it was really good too. He has alot of good books out.
2) Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling
     I have seen all the Harry Potter movies and they were really good. People always say that books are always better than the movies but I've heard that alot when it comes to the Harry Potter movies so I deffinitely want to read this book and then the other ones.
3) Black by Ted Dekker
     I have read other books by the same author and they were really good books so Im hoping that the same is with this book. Ted Dekker is a christian author and Im a fan of christian related books. This book had really good reviews.
4) Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz
     I have read the other Alex Rider books and they were all really good but ive never read the first one which is Stormbreaker so it would be nice to know how it all got started. I have seen the Stormbreaker movie and it was really good.
5) Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins
     My brother has read the Gregor the Overlander series and gave it a really good review and recomended it to me. The book has an old city on the cover and it sets a kind of misterious tone to it so Im really interested in reading it.
6) Cryptid Hunters by Roland Smith
     I watch animal planet alot and really like the idea of extinct animals not being extinct and this book is about that. It had a really good review so im hoping that it is as good as its talked up to be. I like adventure books too.
7) Chasing Vermeer by Balliett & Helguist
     I like mystery books and this book is reviewed to be a mystery book. The illustrator of this book has illustrated alot of other good books that I am a fan of. There is alot of codes and cool things like that throughout the book.
8) Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
     I like the outdoors alot and this book is about surviving in the wilderness. I live in Bethesda and every day is a struggle to do anything so I feel the main characters pain by being stranded. I like survival things like that so i hope this is a good book.
9) Hunger Games  by Suzanne Collins
     I watched the movie a few days ago after I all the hype about the movies and books being so good and i really enjoyed it. The movie was great and if books are better than the movies then this should be a really good bookj.
10) H.I.V.E by Mark Walden
       I have read the second book in this two book series and it was great. I thought it was a really well writen book and it left me hanging at the end so there should deffinetely be another book writen but before i read the third book I want to read the first one so i know whats going on.
